Robert Galati - Presenter, MC and Compere
Robert Galati began his career as a wedding MC in April 2003 at the age of 25, and has since been at the helm of nearly 400 weddings across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to February 2011. Robert is eloquent and in demand. Passionate about weddings, his fresh, vibrant approach is a welcomed change from the stereotype MC’s of old.
With over 15 years experience in the hospitality industry, Robert understands every facet of running a function, from the kitchen to dance floor. He is a perfectionist, and is attentive to every detail. He knows the importance of timing at every wedding, and his energetic yet simple style has earned him a name as one of Australia’s premier wedding MC’s.
Robert’s down to earth and approachable nature is what has earned him an enviable reputation in the wedding industry. “I like to meet couples well before the event and help them in any way I can.” I am passionate about weddings, and absolutely love what I do. This is after all the industry of true love so its important that I too love playing my part.”
Robert is witty, entertaining and conservative, and knows that every wedding is ALL about the bride and groom, and NEVER the MC. His ability to read the energy in the room is unique. “Sometimes a simple pause or a well timed response can mean a thousand words, but it has to be spontaneous.”It’s a fine line he treads to perfection.
Robert’s reputation has seen him grace the microphone at many of Sydney’s premier venues including an invitation to host the opening nights at the majestic Sergeant’s Mess at Chowder Bay (where he is a regular MC) and the first wedding to be held at the historic Sydney Cricket Ground Trust in the member’s pavilion dining room in December 2009.
Other venues Robert has been at the helm of weddings include The Marquee @ Sydney Opera house, Catalina Rose Bay, Hilton hotel in Sydney & Brisbane, Palazzo Versace - Gold Coast, Gunners Barracks, Dunbar House, Shangri-La hotel Sydney, Westin Grand ball room Sydney, Altitude restaurant at The Rocks, Oliveto Ristorante, The Pier at Docklands Melbourne, Novotel Canberra, Le Montage (6 years resident MC), Curzon Hall, Doltone House venues, Ottoman Restaurant Pier 2, Dockside venues including Water’s Edge & L’Aqua, Sydney Starship, M.V Bella Vista cruise ship, Circular Quay’s Green Room, Ocean Room, Italian Village, Miramare Gardens in Sydney’s North, QVB tea room.
Robert has twice been wedding MC for the children of Sydney’s famous NYE fireworks organizer Vince Foti, and socceroos star Brett Emerton. He has also been at the helm of many charity events and balls and was MC for the 2009 Burwood street fair, 2010 Nortn Festa, and is the resident MC for the annual Melbourne Cup Luncheon held at Sydney harbour foreshore at The Rocks.
